Description

Farm located in the village of Cabezas de San Juan, Sevilla, around 4 km from the village. It´s included in Climate Unit 2 (Mediterranean with sub-humid maritime influence). The farm has an area of 368 with rainfed and irrigated extensive crops.The average slope of the plot is 1%. The soil is clay and has an average organic matter content of 1.8%.Two management systems are established in the farm (conventional tillage and no-till).

In rainfed conditions, the typical crop rotation in the area iscereal-leguminous-oilseed. Conservation Agriculture has being implanted for the last 20 years. The crop established in the first season is sunflower and chickpea.

In irrigated conditions, two types of crop rotations are established in the farm. On one hand, there is a crop rotation with tomato-beet-cereal under conventional tillage. The crop established in the first monitoring season is tomato. On the other hand, there is a crop rotation with cotton-quinoa crop under Conservation Agriculture.The crop established in the first monitoring season is quinoa.
